The team at Douwe Egberts (JDE) asked us to find a unique way to communicate their out-of-home-at-home coffee proposition. As one of the best-loved household brands in the Netherlands (found in virtually every Dutch home), and with a heritage of more than 300 years, this was to be a major new product launch.

Inspired by the D.E Cafés found nationwide, we developed a new identity and a packaging system across multiple SKU’s. Placing our welcoming baristas front-and-centre, and celebrating the cosy Dutch vibes of ‘gezelligheid’, we brought the café environment to the supermarket shelf.

The client was so pleased with the result that the project was able to come full circle, with our identity going back into the cafés themselves through fresh new signage, physical touchpoints and our interior design recommendations.
